What You Will Do:

• Build, support and grow an outstanding Data Science Chapter that embodies our organization's principles of Thought Leadership, Impact Leadership, Collaborative & Values-Driven Colleagues, and People Leadership.
• Be a consultative partner across the business, spotting potential uses for new data products and helping frame solutions to existing problems
• Ensure technical rigor across the Chapter, providing technical coaching best on the depth of your experiences
• Support data scientists’ commitment to learning; support the Chapter’s desire to be at the forefront of Data Science
• Evangelizing data science across the company, pushing the boundaries of what we can model and measure
• Guide the team in developing compelling, easy to understand documentation.
• Be a role model for the team, by bringing high energy and a positive outlook every day.

Your Qualifications:

• Significant proven experience running a team of super-charged Data Scientists within an ecommerce organization, preferably with previous consulting experience.
• Proven people leadership experience with the ability to attract, develop, excite, and retain incredible and diverse team members with experience leading teams of 10+
• Excellent communication skills and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance sustainability, speed, and autonomy
• Significant prior hands-on data science experience and knowledge of the tools used (Python, SQL, ML libraries, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, engineering, computer science or other technical field
